Any suggestions on software for burning cd's and are any brands of blank cd's better than the others? I bought a box of BASF and so far 2 out of four had errors and 1 out of 3 Kodaks was bad as well.
I have a RICOH CD-R-RW 7060, 6x,4x,24x and I am using Adaptec Direct CD and Adaptec Easy CD Creator, any advice?

Thanks, Ken

I have had several failures using memorex gold/blue cd's. I've had only a couple of failures using sony and tdk. It seems my failures are always on audio cd's though. I've never had a failure on a data cd copy. I think keeping the audio cd under 600 megs is the key. The toc (table of contents) supposedly takes up to 40 megs. I use adaptec easy cd creator and direct cd copy also. I've upgraded to 3.5 recently, but still get failures on audio cd's every now and then. Acer cd-rw & Acer cd-rom 40x.
I think they make cd's fail on purpose to keep us buying more cd's! Yeah, it kinda sucks. I'd like to hear some suggestions too.

Best CD copy software I have found is Nero

There is a new one called CloneCD it will make an EXACT copy of the original. Be warned it doesn't work with all writers

Verbatim cd's are the best I ahve had 100% sucsess with these and only user error has caused me to create an expensive coaster

E-mail me and we can discuss further

I have used Nero and it was a joke; however, I have had good success with Adaptec's Easy CD. I haven't had any problems with Memorex blank cds. Data errors usually occur when the buffer is overun. The speed of source drive is important.

NTI CD-Maker Pro Software is by far the best CD-Writing Software I've ever used. It's especially great for beginners.

I don't know if that other guy just doesn't know what he's doing, has a bad software, or a crappy writer, but Memorex CD's (blue) are the only CD's I used. I've never ever had an error with them and they don't cost much either. Usually around $1.something to $2 per CD.

I have teac cdr56s/400.
It's a good writer 6x24 SCSI II.
But I like the teac CDR58S...8x24 SCSI II...fantastic.
CD's:
BAD: BASF,VERVATIN, MEMOREX,IMATION.
GOOD: SONY, HP, SAMSUMG SILVER.
THE BEST PROGRAGM TO BURN A CD...FOR ME... EASY CD CREATOR 4.02
The worst writer are HP's...I hate HP, 7100e (ext) it's very bad. Inside it's a normal EIDE.

i ve use win cdr 3.8 for pirating, adaptec easy cd crator for music compilation (v3.8)hot burn for quick back ups, clone cd, well it doesnt work with my HP 8100 series, nero, i still have to yet to use, cd wise, spend the extra money, after all you get what you paid for but it all matters on how often you run you scandisk and deframations, i recommend after 10 cd burns, change the oil

The best cd's are sony's! They are very very good! And for burners I would have said Smart and Freindly, but they recently went bankrupt so it is hard to get their stuff, Philips is really good.

I've used many brands of blank Cd's and all of them fail above 4x copying . I have also had two different burners same result . The same goes for adaptek vs nero doesen't matter if I try to burn over 4x.
