I had to many problems with -it ..ERROR ..crashes ..etc...I would like to know If I want to replace-it by another operation system of course win98 what is the best out there ...I had Good hardware to handle any one...thank you for your time...

Isabellah,
You did not say just what your hardwarw was. Not every computer, no matter how "good" the hardware will run Win98. Win98 needs a minimum of a Pentium class processor, 16MB of RAM and sufficent HD space for a swap file. If your system is not up to the test, try upgrading to a faster CPU, more RAM, and/or a bigger HD.
While Windows may not be the worlds best OS it is the widest used and unless you are going to run a business I'd stick with it. But if you insist on a new OS, ther is OS/2, Lynix and a few others. If you want to keep a GUI you can try buying a Mac from Apple.

I've been using Norton System Works on my PC and have not had Win98 crash on me. Ofcourse I only leave the antivirus application running all the time and I've disabled all the other junk such as the CrashGuard which is a huge resource hog and normally will crash your pc anyways. Make sure your not running other norton stuff in the background except for the antivirus and you'll be okay.
You can check by looking in the start up folder and using msconfig.exe in your c:\windows\system subdirectory under the startup tab.
Make sure you have space on your hard drive and atleast 32MB Ram (64MB would be even better ofcourse!)
I run system check and it checks your system - (I mostly have registry conflicts) and - and then gives you the option on how to repair any problems that it found.
Alot of times we install all kinds of programs that leave registry entries that cause problems. System check takes care of them. Another good idea would be to stay away from installing too much shareware/freeware junk. Be picky about what you install.
If nothing else go with Linux - I would recommend the Red Hat edition as it is pretty easy to install but it will not be as user friendly to use as windows.
Good LucK!
