After removing my RAM from the socket and placing a set of RAM into it, my computer started beeping and nothing comes on the monitor. So I remove the new set of RAM and place the old ones back but still the situation persists. Can anyone please tell me what is going on and how to solve the problem? Many thanks.

Either your ram is not firmly inserted (somehow it requires a bit of gentle force until the clips by the sides click on)or the rams are faulty.

The "beep" means that the PC has detected a change - or error in the BIOS settings. You need to go through and install everything the way it was until no beeping occurs. Then install the new RAM (of the correct speed for your motherboard) and enter the BIOS to accept the new changes.

Hope this helps

Depending on the problem, the computer will sound a beep or a series of beeps.
check out http://sysopt.earthweb.com/biosbmc.html for more info on the subject of beeping.

This problem is caused by your RAM that is not seated properly. You have to go in there and push the RAM a far down as it can go and make sure the clips on the side are locked. I had the same problem and after many attempts I finally got the RAM seated properly. You don't have to change anything else the problem is the RAM.
