beeping at start up

when i turn my pc on, i get a constant beeping. The lights on the front of the pc also flash. any ideas? thanks

It depends on which BIOS you have.
Have a look at PCGuides info once you know which BIOS you have.
Your PC shows which BIOS upon startup onthe first screen.

Hi With beeping there is a pattern ?
like 8 beeps all short , or etc. Open up the machine and get the name of the bios unless you can remember it (an award bios ?). Armed with that a search on the net will lead you to a page that will indicate what these beeps means.
You should find simple codes for items like power no good, ram missing or bad, video card not responding etc.
I recommend looking up the beep codes first, but you could just check over the machine, making sure all the cards are in their slots properly. Check the power supply bundle is firmly inplace on the motherboard. Actually it is better to better to remove and put it back just in case it had lost its connection. (the plug can be a bit tricky as there is a catch to be held out while removing the plug)
