Hi, Guys
I have a PIII 800EB with 192MB Ram equip with a Voodoo 3 3000 and Abit BE6-II Mobo, but it somehow hangs upon entering windows and even if it does successfully enters windows, few minutes later, it hangs up.

Do you all know what is happening with it??
Or does any one had the same trouble??
Any Reply would be thankful
Thanks

Does it still do this if you start Windows in Safe Mode? If so you might need to reinstall, if not then you can start adding/eliminating things at startup till you find the problem.

(I presume you have scandisked and defragged?)

If you have your CD ROM and Hard Drive on the Ultra ATA-66 High Point Controller first try putting the CD ROM on a standard IDE channel with a 40 wire IDE cable. If that makes no difference place both your CD ROM AND Hard Drive on the standard IDE Controller.
Could be a conflict with a piece of hardware. Try removing one or more devices from your system (eg: modem, sound card etc) and see if that remedies the problem. Then place them back in one at a time to find out which one is the problem. Try runnning the system in Safe Mode and see if it still freezes.
Might be video driver problems. Try downloading the latest drivers for your Voodoo card off the net.
192Mb RAM suggests you may have either 3x 64Mb Modules or 1 x 128Mb Module and 1 x 64Mb Module in your system. Try removing some of the RAM or try different combinations and see if that helps. This is especially an issue if you have multiple brands / ratings of RAM.
If all else fails try a reinstall of Windows over the top of your existing copy. Sometimes that can help iron out any wrinkles.
Of course, theres always a Hammer (or Hummer) whichever you prefer!
