I'm not sure what to do. Bought a Hard Drive for my old 486sx, It had a 400mb in before bought a 850mb having trouble doing scandisk its come up with bad sectors please fix there seem to be quite afew i've scaned to 63% and fix it has come up,is the hard drive no good or can i fix it.
i would be very gratful if enybody can help me....thanx

try running a low-level format to see if that will do it but most likely not. probably just need new drive. once the sectors start going bad its just a matter of time till it goes out. you can most likely download a low-level format program from the manufacture of the drive.

Run scan disk(thorough)and watch for messages and/or errors,then defrag.If the puter is working ok don't worry about it.
