I have got to reformat the harddrive on my Windows98se machine. Is there a way of backing up my Outlook Express 5 program? I have a large amount of email stored in folders and I do not want to lose them. Thanks!!!

Can't you just open them and click on PRINT ? And your Favorites thats listed under C:\Windows, Print Screen key works good for that. Or send them to a floppy. Copy them to Wordpad. Save them on a ZIP disk. etc.

All Outlook Express data files are typically stored in C:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook (unless you specified a different directory for them to be stored). Open Windows Explorer with the details view enabled, look for the folder, and then check the time and date stamp of the files stored in the Outlook folder. If the dates are the same as the last time you used Outlook Express, then those are your files (and subsequently all your emails). Copy the entire Outlook folder, and then when you're looking to restore the files (after you rebuilt your system), just copy the folder back to the appropriate place.
