Ptsnoop.exe is an older modem program. Try a Google search and you'll see more about it. It's harmless and can be removed. Search the Forum is a handy friend:

I just did another search using the ptsnoop and found lots of information on the ptsnoop trojan. But I had windows reinstalled a couple weeks ago and had a new modem put in. I use dsl modem but just incase there is ever a problem with my dsl service I thought it would be a good to have a dial up modem to fall back on. So ever since I picked my cpu up from the shop with windows 98 reinstalled and a new modem put in I have saw ptsnoop in the control/alt/delete box I removed it from start up because i don't use the dial up modem. I am a bit confused--Has the virus been in my cpu since i the new modem was installed or did i pick it up somewhere?

Ptsnoop is a valid program used with some modems. I guess a trojan could disguise himself as ptsnoop also.
