Back Web Agent

I just ran Spybot Search & Destroy and it found 91 problems. So I clicked on the fix problems button, re-ran the scan and now there are 83 problems.
It is my understanding that Back Web Agent came installed on this HP computer but it uses a lot of resources and is basically spyware. Will removing these detections from the registry key hurt anything? I don't want to mess up this computer.
Thank you for your help.
Raylene
PS-Several days ago I did remove Back Web Agent from the Add/Remove section in Control Panel and this computer doesn't crash and freeze up anymore. Thankfully. :o)

You can safely delete it. It is Spyware.

I don't think Back Web Agent is spyware.I have a Compaq that used to have backweb. It is a 1998 model. Its something that Compaq loads not sure what its for.Now that Compaq and HP HP puts it in there computers. Not 100% sure that its not spyware. It also used alot of resources for me also.I installed 98SE full version and the Compaq doese better.
