.AVI slow load (codec problem?)

I have a Pentium 400 Mhz with 128 RAM and ASUS 3400 TNT vid card. My problem is that some .AVIs I have in my computer take forever to load up, while otherones of the same size load and start running in less than a second. I have SO many codecs, so I assume the problem is not CODEC-related. The weird thing is that this started to happen after I got an upgrade for the ActiveMovie player which is the one I use. PLEASE HELP ME!
