Comment:

Every PC I use has an auto-shutdown feature, where you choose SHUT-DOWN, and it does automatically.

However, on an older family PC, I have to wait for the "It is now safe to turn off your computer" splash screen to appear, then physically press the power button to turn it off.

Is there any way to enable the auto-shutdown feature on this PC?

The old 'AT' type computers were not capable of auto shutdown.

If it is an ATX, check the power options in cmos.
