my cd's dont work. the cd rom reads the cd and i can even play audio CD's, but i think my autorun file is corrupted. Like if i put a CD in, i can find the atuorun.inf file, but the *.exe file wont play for some reason and thus the program wont start. What do i do??

No knowledge of an autorun.exe file.
I assume you've checked "Auto insert notification" (in Control Panel/Device Manager/click on CD-ROM/Settings)?

Fine, I probably can't help further and I see you have reposted. But it's not "autorun" or "autoplay", it's exactly as I described it, you have to put a tick in the box marked "Auto insert notification" - trust that's what you mean? Still can't find a file named autorun.exe on my (W98SE) system.
