Comment:

I want to create a basic Autorun CD in order to open a recently burned music CD. I included the Autorun.inf in the CD ,burned it but no autorun,it tells me "Cannot find setup.exe". The file contained"[autorun]"and underneath "open=setup.exe". I thought this would be ok but alas not. I am a novice at this, can anyone help? I find some guides misleading, and I do understand it is basically simple. I would appreciate assistance

Thanks

Burned music cd's should autorun by default. You should not have to include an autorun.inf file.

music (audio) cd's should not have data files(autorun.inf) on them. (This does not apply to MP3 CD's as they are DATA unless you create an AUDIO CD from them)

AS soon as data is added the CD's become "Mixed Mode"

See:

and some drives will not read them

Can I play CD-EXTRA and Mixed Mode discs in my CD player?

Answer:
Mixed-Mode can be played in a normal CD player, but this is not recommended. Because normal CD players do not read multi-session discs, they will only read the content in the first session. In a Mixed-Mode disc the data track will always be the first track, so the player will see this also as an audio track and play it. However, due to the different track format, when data track is interpreted by the DAC in the CD player, catastrophic events may occur resulting in speakers or even your eardrums being damaged.
On the other hand, CD-EXTRA format is designed to hold both data and audio content on one disc without sacrificing the compatibility with a normal CD player.

Recently there are, however, intelligent CD players that will skip the data track in a Mixed Mode CD when such discs are being played.
