automatic dial up when win98 starts

please help!!! i have just installed zone alarm and every time windows starts i get the dial up connection box. i unistalled zone alarm and it stopped. any solutions. p.s i have unchecked zone alarm to automatically look for updates.

You may also have some sort of software that starts every time Windows starts such as Kazzaa or any other program that needs to be connected to the internet to work. What you can do is go to your start menu, click on run, then type in MSCONFIG. Go to the startup tab and remove any programs that you do not need at startup, as well as any programs you think may be trying to access the internet on startup. Removing excess programs from your MSCONFIG will also speed up your startup process. I hope this helps you out.
