autoexec.bat file

Hello: is there anyone out there that knows how to get to the autoexec.bat file in win 98se . this is supose to be done in dos mode.Thank you

The file is usually in your c: drive. This will be seen as autoexec or autoexec.bat depending how you have set your view options in windows explorer.
Holding the shift key down and right clicking on the file will give you a list of options which includes "open with". Select "open with" and select notepad from the resulting list of applications to select from. This is how you would open it in windows.
If you want to do it in DOS then at the DOS prompt type edit autoexec.bat
I hope this is what you want.

Depending upon where you are in Dos, you might have to type:
edit c:\autoexec.bat

Yeah, in notepad or EDIT (from dos) the file to open would be expressed as:
c:\autoexec.bat
You can also access it by running sysedit.
