I want a Windows program to run when my computer starts up. I tried placing the program name as the last line of the autoexec.bat file but that didn't work.
Can anyone help?

The above method is the easiest way. When I used to work with win3.1 I used the command win program.exe. Here program.exe is the apllication you inded to start with windows.

If you don't want others to see it in your Startup folder fire up your ol' regedit and find...

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

add a string and call it whatever you like. Just add the path to the value.
