Auto Insert Notification & Nero

I lost the autorun on my CD rom and after posting a query on the forum I was advised to switch on Auto Inset Notification in Device Manager. I did so and solved the autorun problem for CDs. However when I now try to burn a CD using Nero 5, I get continuous warning messages at various stages of the process. The warnings are that having Auto Insert Notification checked can cause serious damage to CDs and computer crashes. I have chosen "ignore" and continued with no problems, however this has never happened before. I have always had autorun for CDs working and I have been using Nero for about two years without these messages.
Can anyone tell me what has happened?
How can I stop these annoying messages and is there another way to enable autorun rather than "auto insert notification."

I don't beleive so, even though some burners won't mess up with it on they set the Nero burning program up to run with it off. so in other words if you want it on you'll have to find another burning program. I am not sure which one but one of the nero versions did not require you to have it off. you could search the web and try to find one of the ealier copies. I hope this helps (P.S. I have ver. 5.5.9.1 the newest)

I don't know either!
I have Ver 5.5.3.0 a CD-ROM and a burner and both have auto-insert checked without any problems.
I assume you only have the one CD Unit, otherwise you could just leave the burner unchecked as a work-around.
Maybe uninstalling and re-installing Nero might clear this up.
