I have recently come across a very anoying problem. After formatting an old computer and reinstalling everything, I then tried to play an audio CD. The system proceeded to lock itself out completely. I then tried with a DVD CD and came across the same problem. I then tried a game CD (Quake 3 Arena) and had no problems.
So i would apear there is something wrong with the way my system is handleing/playing audio/dvd CD's. If you know anyway I could counter this problem and stop my system locking out I would apreciate the help.
Just for your info, system specs: Win98 128mb RAM 366mhz AMD processor Toshiba DVD Rom SD-MI202

Hi Ninja: My guess is that you might have a missing or corrurpt file. If you have the install software for you CD or DVD-ROM driver I would remove device reboot & reinstall drivers. Go to Control Pannel\ System\ Device Manager to remove CD device, then exit & reboot. When Win 98 starts it will find the CD & ask for install disks (floppy or CD). You might have to reinstall your sound card drivers the same way if the problem still occurs, might be a sound problem.
