audio not working - PCI

after I format my pc and install w98, my speaker cannot work and that's always a message 'PCI Multimedia Audio Device' detect. however, i tried lots of drivers from the w98 disk, but still cannot work. plse help
it sounds like it's simply searching for the correct drivers and can't find them. why don't you look at what kind of sound card you have in your system properties and then go to that website and download the latest drivers. Good Luck!
