Audio Hardware error NO sound

Tried to play a movie with Windows Mediaplayer, but came up with an error
"Cannot play back the audio stream: no audio hardware is available." I am running Windows 98. Any Idea? Please help! Thanks!

Try to reinstall your Audio Drivers.

be4 you do all that make sure that yur not running any software that uses the sound eg winamp or ne thing else running it
...i know its simple but this is like a "cover your ass" thing
