I have an ATI rage pro card. Randomly I will get an "atigart performed an illigal operation" error on startup. What could be wrong?, second, what does this atigart.exe do and is my video compromised without it?

If you have win98 go to start/run and type in msconfig and click ok...then click on the startup tab and take the checkmark out of the listing for any ati stuff. it will not compromise your graphics at all...if after doing that you still get the error, rename your autoexec.bat and config.sys files in dos
