My ATI RAGE 128 32 MEG video card wont work. The model number is 6001828. I put it in, plugged it into my monitor, and my monitor never came on. Any suggestions?

Hey first i would go back and check all my cables as crazy as it sounds i have had times were simply unpluggin it and hooking it up again was the fix ,if that dont work take the card out and use the eraser on a pencil and clean the contacts on the card and last but not least if you can swap it out on another computer see if it will work on that one good luck

I agree docfillgood. Those particular cards will let the cable be plugged in upside down. Looks like it's seated correctly and everything, but it's upside down.

Is it the PCI card?
or
Is it the AGP Slot card?
ATI made the Rage 128 in two different configs, Make sure you have it in the correct slot on the motherboard!

Does it work OK with a different video card? A monitor not displaying anything could be due to a hardware problem elsewhere in the system.

#1 - The slots are physically different

#2 - The slots are differently spaced on the motherboard from the cards securing bar (the back, where you place the card securing screw)
