Yes, you can assign a drive letter to a RAM drive if you use a program called xmsdisk. It was made by ZDNet in 1989. It allows you to set the size in mb and the drive letter (as long as it is available). The program normally is loaded in the autoexec.bat file but can be run from any DOS prompt. However, it has to be started before Windows95/98 runs. It will not load while Windows is running.
I load it and then set my temp command to it and I also have my browsers set to use the RAM drive as the cache drive. That way my cache files disappear when I turn off my computer.
