Please try to provide more information.

Are you on dial-up?

At what point does it fail, are there any error messages, or does nothing happen whatsoever?

Sorry, dial-up was a silly question.

Unfortunate lack of symptoms on this, so I do understand your plight.

You could uninstall/re-install Ares I suppose and see if that helps, or rather better try posting on one of these:
ARES FORUMS

It's a rather specialised area, but keep watching here too because someone might come along who knows all about it and can help you.

Good luck

I haven't gone to that forum yet. I tried a couple times, but keep getting a message saying that their bandwidth has been exceeded. I will try again later, but I wanted to post here too.

I have been experiencing issues with Ares lately too. It was working fine for a long time, both at work and home. Now all of a sudden, neither works. I've uninstalled and reinstalled on my home computer, but it didn't do anything. I don't get search results. None of my existing downloads can find sources. It is like the whole program went offline...??

I'll check back on their forum, but if anyone has heard anything, then give a shout. Thanks.

I found out that they no longer support previous builds of 1.81. You have to download the latest copy. This will make it work again. However, they have taken away the ability to have an unlimited # of downloads going at the same time. 15 is the max.

I have a cable modem and it goes out on me I think the problem llies with in the program. You need to upgrade to a newer version. I notice regardless of connectivity via dial-up,etc... there is going to be a problem.

My diagnosis is to upgrade and you should have no problems; just in case why dont you let me know the symptoms and I will post a guide that or faq sheet to help everyone who has this problem.
