I have an apple mac at work, i want to reformat the hard drive. I do not know how this is done it does not seem any where near as simple as the pc.

this shouldn't be a problem as long as you have the system disk (i'm assuming that you're running OS 9). Just pop the disk into the drive, and find a utility called drive setup or something like that. It'll have an option to initialize the drive, set up partitions, etc...
