I have AOL 5.0, do I really need AOL 7.0? Also I have a 56K modem, do I need a FireWall or Am I protected? Give any comments and suggestions. Thank You for your time!

I don't know about AOL. I know people that are still using 5.0 for different reasons.

You are never 100% protected out there. Even if you are using a dial-up connection (modem). If you spend considerable amounts of time on-line, I would suggest you at least install ZoneAlarm. Not only is one of the best software-based firewalls, but it is free for personal use. This doesn't mean that you will be 100% protected, but lets just say that rather than going out for the weekend and locking the doors of your house, now you are setting up an alarm system.

Just my personal opinion.

I must Agree with Cassius,But I would not
Install ZoneAlarm. ZoneAlarm Has some problems
I would Install Tiny personal Firewall.
This is the Best Firewall out there for Free.
And you can get it at:

If you are pro, you can use Tiny, otherwise you will get headache configuring it.
ZoneAlarm is the best FW out there.
For more information go to http://grc.com and http://grc.com/cb-faq.htm for more infos.

I would Have to agree with the black night,
Zonealarm is not a stable firewall I used
too use it but it crashed my pc. I would
Install Sygate. SYGATE is far better firewall
than Zonealarm and Tiny. You can get at :

I use TINY Personal Firewall, And NO you don't
have to be a pro to use it. It is real easy
to use if you just have common sinse.
As for Zonealarm it is a good firewall,BUT
it is NOT the Best. And for sygate,It too
is good but not the best. All three are
good it is just a matter of preferance.

does anyone know how I can uninstall aol 7.0

Since I installed it my computer is highly unstable and it crashes on attempting a tcpip connectiion. It's the worst, but absolutely not 1 word on all aol re uninstalling, as if the concept doesn't exist. I really get pissed at their heavy handed arm twist marketing. please help if you really know. thanks
