I checked the search feature and found nothing.
Does anyone know of a way to get outlook express working in AOL?
OR, what does AOL use instead of POP and SMTP?
Thanks for any reply!

Not all e-mail providers will allow their mail to be downloaded to a client like OE.

With yahoo you now have to upgrade to their pay e-mail to allow downloading to OE.

With AOL there is no option to download to OE.

You say not all.
AOL is the only one that don't.
AOL SUxks
The federal government set protocols for Email. POP (post office protocol) for incoming and SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol) for outgoing.
AOL is worst than Sadam in trying to control the masses.
Do it there way or else.
I hope they go down like their Irianian counterpart.

I can understand free e-mail providers wanting you to go to their site so they can
generate operating revenue through advertisement.

But when your already paying an ISP for service then to me it just seems greedy.
But if you ask them I'm sure they will give you a "different" explanation.

But in my opinion AOL is bloated with even worse things than their e-mail restrictions.

Hi Seat6 and RandyL,

I only know of one way and that is to use a third party software which will translate AOL mail to POP3.

Here is a couple of links to the ones I am aware of. Both of them are around $20.00 U.S.

AOL2pop

Why use AOL if you are unhappy with it. Switch to NetZero, Juno or one of the others at less than half the price.
