After screwing around with error after error I decided to reinstall windows. After the reinstall I still had problems. What seemed to work was to uninstall IE 5.5 first then reinstall windows. I haven't had a crash yet. What got me thinking was when I tried the IE repair tool it said I had sysrun.dll out of date. I tried to locate it but found it nowhere. I went to uninstall 5.5 after which none of my windows would open because of active desktop..I reinstall windows and it all worked great. My suggestion: Do not install 5.5. It is very buggy

That's a new one! Look back through the pages, lots of people have had IE55 troubles, but not everyone. Mine was the long delay in opening OE - I went back to IE501

Matt.
I had all kinds of poblems with IE 5.5. I contacted Sprint Canada today and was told by their techs that it does have a lot of bugs in it. They told me to go back to 5. So far no problems. No more blue screen of death. I do have one problem but that will be taken care of soon. This computer was running like a top. Then when I downloaded 5.5 I had all kinds of errors and blue screen. Now it's fine again.

You would have saved yourself a lot of problems if you had read the forums before you installed it. It is microsofts buggiest program yet...

I'm having MAJOR problems with IE 5.5 and have for at least 2 months. I've tried everything, short of crashing my whole computer and starting over. My whole system locks up at least a dozen times a day. I cannot Ctrl-Alt-Del, but have to power down right where I am.
What's the easiest way to go BACK to IE 5.0?? If it will help, I'll try it.
I've also debated switching to Netscape or Windows 2000. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
