After having my computer worked on,everytime I try to save an animated GIF it saves a just a regular STILL GIF.How can I change this so I can save them in animation.I have tried " Save As " an Copy/paste with the same results.
I'm just an old biker with little computer skills. So please make the answers simple.
Thank You
SkullWhen I try to save a animated GIF,it will only save as a STILL GIF.

Skull,
If I open a .gif in MS Paint then it does not have the capability to animate the .gif but Internet Explorer does.
When saving a .gif or animated .gif you can not control it. If it is animated then you saved it as such.
I suspect your problem lies with not presently being able to display an animated .gif file.
I suspect that associating .gif with Internet Explorer will fix your problem.
Open the folder that contains any one of your .gif file.
Left click on one of them to select it/highlight it.
Hold down the Shift key and Right click on that same file.
Doing so will present the "Open with" option when the context menu appears from doing so.Select Open With.
In the dialog box there is a checkbox very near the bottom that says something to the effect of "Always use this program to open this type of file".
Place a check in that box. Now, in the upper portion of that dialog box scroll to you see "iexplore" and select it. They are listed in alphabetical order.
Click Ok.HTH

CHOPPER, After following Bryan's instructions also open Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab and under Multimedia put a checkmark in front of 'Play animations in web pages' click Apply/OK.

Rather than associate .gif files with ie, it might be faster or easier to use, to just drop a shortcut to ie in the Send To folder and when you want to see an animated gif just highlight it, right click and Send it to ie for viewing there. Then your gif associations can be left alone. The associations for all image files used to be ie when Windows was first installed, BTW. Some program that you have installed since that time has taken the image file associations away from the original owner which was ie.
Navigate to Program Files\Internet Explorer folder. Highlight iexplorer.exe and right click it, choose Create Shortcut. The shortcut will be seen in the same folder when done, rename it if you like. Cut it from there and place it in Windows\Send To folder. You're done.

Chopper-If you ever have another problem with file association and can't tell buy the icon what it is associated with try this:
Go to Start\Run\Winfile\File\Associate\type the file name-(ie-gif) in the "files with Extensions" box and see what is highlighted in the "Associate with" box. This is the most sure way to change a file association. If you don't see the program you want to associate it with just use the "browse" button to find it. Just be sure and reboot after you complete your task to change the association.
Take Care
Deke
