AMR port? CNR port? ISA? Performance?

What's an AMR port? What's a CNR port? Someone told me having an ISA port will reduce overall performance because the slowest part will be the speed of everything else or affect everything else. Is this true? They said to get rid of it to increase performance. What do you think they mean by this, deactivate the ISA port when the computer is built or something? Can that be done? Will having an AMR port lower my system's performance?
