All file extensions changed to .Ink

All of my file extensions have changed to .ink and I am unable to change any of them back to what they should be so the only program that works is IE.

Howard, Are you saying that every file extension(.exe, .dll, .jpg, etc.) changed to .ink? Please clarify as there may be a possible fix.

It is a certainty that .exe and .dll (for starters) must be untouched otherwise neither IE or anything else would work.
It might not be too easy but you need to try to work out which ones have changed as far as possible. Some should be certainties if you know what they were before.
