AIM and AOL

If I have AOL installed on my computer and use their instant messenger that comes with the software can i also install the free AIM software and use that with AOL simultaneously? For example, let's say my AOL screen name is littleboyblu87 and i also have another screen name that's separate from that. Can i install AIM and use my second screen name while also using AOL and my first screen name? I want to use them both together at the same time. Can i do that? Will installing AIM cause a conflict with the AOL software?

not sure...but there is a program called AIM+ that allows you to use two AOL IM screennames at once...with two AIM's, that way you don't have to use the AOL stuff and just the instant messenger

I have a computer (athlon 800MHz. 256Mb ram) that runs both AOL (ver. 7.0) and AIM at the same time with same screen name. the only way to mess up aol is if you are signed on to aol on two computer's at the same time with the same screen name. AIM doesn't actually sign on to the internet it actually opens a webpage that is like a java applet and checks your name and password then allows you to use the buddy list and etc.
