Dear Windows 98 Gurus!
I have two PCs: Windows 98 SE and Windows XP Pro... they both were able to go to the InterNet using dial up... Now I network them.
They can see each other, share files, print, etc... no problem (using TCP/IP, same workgroup) However, my Win98SE can't browse Internet anymore! I can dial up, but once online, I can't browse using IE, I can't ping anything, nor tracert will not help
I did run Win98SE setup on top of old installation, I did reinstall dial up networking, nothing helpedDoes anybody has any idea what is going on???
Thanks a lot!
Jan

How did you setup your Network with XP? Did you setup your XP as connects directly to internet and others connect through this computer? Did you run the Network Setup Wizard in XP and later the floppy on your 98 pc?

Hi Will!
Nope, both machines have independend telephone lines, both have dial up networking connection to Internet... no Internet sharing. No, I did not use WinXP Network wizard... All I did was just shared drives, assigned both PCs to the same workgroup, that's all... They are OK on the local area network, but while XP machine can dial up and browse Internet, Win98 machine can dial up, but can't get any web page, ping or tracert....
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp, please.
Jan
