this is driving me nuts: just bought a ibm aptiva very satisfied but one thing i have never seen before: if i run fdisk and create any kind of partition the system wont boot up after the final re start after all the files have been set up from the recovery disk ( cd full restore disk ) if i delete the partitions and just leave the c drive as a full 8gb drive then format and re start then run the recovery all is fine.. why cant i partition withought this problem #@@$%^&((*&$ its driving me up the wall any help is of course greatly welcome thanks to all in advance

The "Recovery Disk" is a propreitary disk made to run one specific way and one way only. When you deviate from this it no longer works.

example the recovery disk is made to set things up as if you just bought it- any partitions - call ibm
