hi it is me again.
I have windows 98 and a HP 8100 cdrw drive. The speed is 4x4x24.
If I run the adeptec easy cd, which came with the drive, I get the message "Cd copier could not detect any supported CD recorders. Please ensure your Cd recorder is properly connected. If the problem presist re-install the program" .
What can I do to fix the error so that I could burn cds from the program.
P.s I have programs like nero burning and that works fine but I want to use the software that came with the burner.

For openers, there really isn't any reason NOT to use NERO, or to have to use Creator just 'cause it came with the harware. Actually, despite many claims by partisans to the contrary, they both do pretty much exactly the same thing -- I personally happen to think Creator is more user friendly but that's just my opinion (well, actually some reviewers agree). Not sure why you are getting that error -- I've used Creator for well over a year with no problems. What version are you using? -- 4.03b is the latest upgrade (you can get it from Roxio site) before the new version 5.

I have the same burner and had the same problem with Adaptec. After searching the Internet for a solution (and trying a few that didn't work), I just went with Nero. I find it easy to use and just as good as Adaptec's CD Creator.

the drivers installed dont recognise your burner. On the disk for Creater check for a folder called update. if it exists, run the file, I think it is called 'Update.exe'.

You can also check out the Roxio site for any updates. www.roxio.com I think is the address
