Comment:

I have several remnant application names hiding in the installed applications list in the Add/Remove Programs prompt. They remain there because they were improperly removed, and the installation data was delete. Most, if not all of, the installation disks for the applications have been lost. Is there anyway to remove them from the application registry?

Download add/remove clean, it's free and works just fine, sorry I don't have the link but a search will find it.

Hi Eric

Run REGEDIT and go to...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Delete the names of the programs you want gone from the Add/Remove list.

UninstallCleaner by JonesSoft will help. It's freeware and I use it myself.

Also, "Spybot Search and Destroy" (freeware) has a feature that locates and optionally removed orphaned registry entries.

Best Luck,

Tweakui will also take care of that problem. It's easy to find on line and a handy utility to have.

Hi Eric,:

Krystyna's response #2 worked great for me a few months back.
