I had sounds on my computer before, but after the HD got wiped out, and the driver files got erased, I can't get them back!!! I know that I need drivers for AD1816... and I tried to get them on the internet, but I can't get it!! once, it did kinda work, sounds actually did come out, but for some reason it would loop every second of the sound file 10-20 times before going on with it... SOMEBODY HELP!!! imagine playing Starcraft and Rainbow6 without sounds on a 21" screen!!!!!

Your going to have a hard time finding drivers for that card. If I remember correctly, that card is known as a Soundport made by Analog Devices. There should be a chip on your card that says that also. Check the search engines for the Analog Devices website and see if they have the drivers. I was at their website a long time ago, and they did have some drivers for their newer cards, but I believe I was also looking for the AD1816 driver. You might get lucky this time. I wish I had the URL for you but you should be able to find it through the search engines. Good luck.

I've installed the latest drivers I could find and have yet to get any sound from Win98 Second Edition. Does anyone have ideas on what to check or try? I did enable all of the entries in the english.inf file and everywhere I look in windows it indicates that the driver is correctly installed and functional without conflicts. but, no sound...

well, i've just spent a lot of time finding drivers for sound, modem, and video for some idiot who gave me their pc to fix without documentation or software. scratch that last message. i mean to post that on the video-740agp 3d tread. you won't find many audio drivers on jaton's website. you'll have to go to analog devices for the drivers.
