I need a recovery CD for my Acer Extensa 501dx, and i dont know where to get one (at least cheap enough!) Does anyone know where to get one? Thanx!

By Recovery CD do you mean one that contains the operating system?
What makes you want to use one?
This Acer support page offers a troubleshooting guide.
and this page will show you the correct specifications for that machine. (I thought it as odd that you are stating CPU/RAM as 3.1GB and only 48MB) I suspect it is 233MHz/48Mb.

Bryan

Recovery Cd`s suck :/
ive just had a battle with a fujitsu PCTV which i had to replace the hard drive in . cos i only had a 4,3gb drive spare and its a limited bios i had to use ez-drive, then the recovery sftware threw a fit cos of the non standard bnoot sector. Luckily the first part of the recovery is carried out from floppy so i was able to rewrite the script to ignore the hard drive check and it finally reinstalled win 3.11 then the 95 upgrade. I *HATE* recovery progs like that why they cant just do a ghost image or similar which is what i do with all mysystems when installed, after all we do that at work, d/l an image onto a system then let sysprep run or manually alter details if need be.
Woof

There's only one place you're gonna get a recovery cd--and that's the guys who made it. If the machine is old enough you probably can't get one, and it will probably be more money than you wanta pay.
I have had SEVERAL older IBM thinkpads, from a 486-33 up to my P-600mhz. For NONE of them have I needed a recovery CD--I just went to the excellant IBM website and downloaded whatever utilities and drivers I needed.
Your ONLY other option, if you HAVE to have a recovery cd, is somewhere like eBay that someone might have a used one from a defunct machine.
