Have you tried another program (ex. IrfanView)?

Acdsee is a horrible program in that it creates irregular image file associations in the registry that can't possibly work right. IrfanView is the only program in my experience that can correct these 'not right' Acdsee image file associations.

when you uninstall it, clear the registry keys before reinstalling. in particular, hkey local machine/software/Acdsee*.*
