I am running an AMD K6 166 Mhz with a plug and pray bios. Due to lack of tinkering experience concerning hardware configurations I do not know how to access the bios setup. If any one would be as kind as to help me on this matter I would be extremely pleased.

Thanks,

Watch the screen when the pc starts. There should be a line saying choose F1, or Delete, or some other key or combination to access setup or the bios.
If you have a lack of tinkering experience, write down ALL current bios settings, and any you change, it'll save your butt, just ask around.

Instead of writing them down you can use the 'print screen'[turn your printer on first]and it will print out each section but only one at a time as keep hitting the key to print. Don't expect colour or exactly what you see cause it won't do it and some printers have a different idea on how it will look, keep them for future ref.

Like everyone else has been saying, look for a line that says what to push. If it doesn't say anything try Ctrl + Alt + S during the boot up or delete, or F1 or Space Bar. Each manufacturer has a certain key to press. But I thought I would mention the Ctrl + Alt + S option since no one had yet.

For Toshiba bios setup, close all applications. Turn the unit "OFF" Hold the "Esc" key down and power up the unit. You will get a message "click F1" Do so and yuou are in.

I have a Toshiba Satellite 100CS and I was wondering how to access the bios. I have tried all the traditional methods but still no luck. I have tried to create a keydisc but that didn't work either. Toshiba has kind of a reputation for their Bios. I would appreciate any help. (I have tried all the above methods.
