An enquiry on behalf of my dad, who's having a new problem that seems to have emerged without his encouragement.
He says that although his Win98 laptop is working OK it is telling him when he switches off that there is an "abnormal program termination" at WINDOWS/WIN/logon.exe. It then shuts down normally.
This only happens on occasions after he's been online. He went into his Windows folder, and looked under the Properties section of the logon.exe file. It told him that he'd modified it on August 8, which he
certainly didn't or not knwoingly anyway. Is there anything he should do? The only other change he has noted, and it might be
significant, is that the internet dial-up now happens automatically, whenever he boots up, whereas before it didn't happen
until I clicked on the explorer E icon.Any suggestions extremely welcome
Take care
Jeremy
