Hi guys. I just got a quick question. Dont worry its nothing serious. I'm just curious really. I've been useing yahoo messenger for the longest time. And after they updated to 5.5 and later now, it has been causeing some strange problems. I log on and if I wanted to check my email directly through the messenger by clicking the "go to yahoo mail" button, it reboots my PC. Now that was before, now I'm getting just a blue screen. After that the program either aborts checking the email or completely closes yahoo messenger. If you need to know the error name let me know. Id have to recreate the problem in order to get it lol.
Is it something within the new yahoo messenger thats causeing this error on windows 98se? Or what?
Thanks in advance :)

I don't think it's a Yahoo Messenger error .. I have win98se and the same Messenger as you, but never have a problem with it.
I used to have my messenger preferences set to "automatically log in to mail, etc", but not anymore .. it was causing delays in opening the messenger, and it wanted to start a browser for mail, too. I only have a P1 here, so I don't like i auto-starting extra programs when all I want to do is chat.
If you did not un-install the old messenger when you got the new one, however, that might be causing a problem. I've heard of that before.
As far as Yahoo! not answering emails ....
"Who'da thunk .. ?"
You don't have to be realistic to be cynical, but you DO have to be cynical to be realistic!

No it doesnt make any sence on why its not yahoo.. because yahoo messenger isnt always open when im useing my pc. My pc could run just fine without the messenger being opend. But when i load it in it, thats when it all starts up.. I can use it as long as I dont click any type of link through the yahoo messenger like the email thing. Its been doing this even on an older pc that I had. I also reformated this pc recently so I dont think the older version had anything to do with it cause well.. its not there anymore lol..
