Comment:

I just have a quick curious question.
Is there an adapter that would convert a 168 ram into a 184 pin ram? The reason I'm asking is cause I have ram in an old PC thats not even being used and probably wont ever be again and I wanted to see if I can use the ram in it on the new pc.

uh, 168-pin is single data rate...184-pin is double data rate.

If you wanna use the 168-pin RAM, buy a board that supports it.

1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb

Uhh.. whats with the attitude? I just said you wouuld think so.. sheesh :|.. As for getting a board that supports it that kind of defeats the purpose of asking the question..

They could probably make an adapter but then it would be probably too big. If you ever saw a full set of 30 to 72 adapters you would understand (4 adapters left/right/up/down).

To convert 168 to 184 you would probably need added logic and address chips.

Of cause it is, its common knowledge that the "older" type of ram costs more to buy these days then DDR ram,
so i dont think you would have a problem selling it....
and Jam should lighten up with his terse comments, after all his pc spec's he insists on quoting, (ad nauseam) are nothing to get a hardon about....
