A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:C0005338 in VXD VMM (01) + 00004338

Driving you CRAZY??

Don't laugh-- CLEAN THE DUST OFF YOUR PROCESSOR COOLING FAN.
AMD 450 K6-2 processors are heat sensitive (and possibly others), and too much dust clogging
up the heat sink and fan that sits immediately on top of the processor, will
cause it to heat up-- one degree over the limit will
cause it to fail repeatedly for no apparent reason-- and with no apparent cure.

This is EXACTLY the error message you will get/we got- opening programs, merely tapping the
mouse-- EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Changing hard drives/RAM still got the same message.
We took the fan off the processor (held on with
wire clip) vacumed it and blew the CONSIDERABLE DUST off the thing.

PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY and permanently SOLVED. (At least for a couple
more years till the brown crud accumulates once again.)

I got this information:

Error Message "A fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C02807E8 in VXD VMM(06) + 000047E8" with a Blue Screen, the cause of this error is currently unknown, win98 No Further Information Available

Is this current, or is there more information; perhaps a solution?

Anyone have experience with the above error message?

I read one case of an individual getting another kind of "Fatal Exception" error that disappeared when he cleaned the dust from the clogged fan, thus lowering the temperature of his overheated system.

I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF TRYING TO RESTORE MY COMPUTER FROM NTKERN.VXD ERRORS, PROTMAN ERRORS, AND PROBLEMS GETTING ON INTERNET EXPLORER. MY QUESTION IS, HOW CAN I CLOSE ALL OF THE PROGRAMS RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND WHILE I AM TRYING TO WORK ON MY COMPUTER. FOR EXAMPLE NETSCAPE STARTS UP AUTOMATICALLY AS WELL AS MANY DLL FILES AND ATI TASK, ETC.. DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
