Hello,
Can somebody please let me know if or how Windows 98 can be upgraded from a 98SE full install disc... or if instructions exist somewhere?
I have a full SE install disc and don't want to uninstall 98 to use it, just install over 98 if it's possible. When I go to upgrade to SE, Windows 98 tells me to use the upgrade disc, not the full install, the installation process then stops. Thank you for any shove in the right direction.
Yes answered before:
#1 is incorrect. It is not "intended" as an upgrade but it can be done easily by renaming win.com as given in orbital's link. This fools windows into believing W98 is not present. Shout back if you have any problems.

I don't know where "pgckkwvdzm" came from, but he/she's been responding to a lot of posts lately & giving out a fair amount of bad info.
... yes I'd noticed too. We can all make mistakes but several seem to have been posted without thinking or checking. DerekW
Good news, cigar to orbital then. Thx for update.
