hi
I have a friend who has a comp running windows '95. She has a lot of programs running on startup and I went to uncheck them in msconfig but could not get it (msconfig). Is there msconfig on win95 ? If not could you please tell me what the '95 version of msconfig is?
Thanx
Billyboy

Msconfig didn't ship with 95 but it can be grafted in quite easily.

You can just copy the files over from a 98 machine into their respective folders - or d/l the package from SureCool

Oh sure - he's got some interesting stuff there.

Another one of note is Tweak Revisited - orignally freeware, now shareware but still quite functional.

Hi jboy,

SureCool sure looks cool. I tried two links. The first one gave a CGI error. The second went to a missing page on Micro$oft, which is par.

Doesn't leave me with the warm fuzzies, but I'll try again.

Just tried the "DOS 500 Pgms" link and got a 'not found.'

As David Lee Roth says, "As far as where we're headed next, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is, we have lost our way. The good news is, we're WAY ahead of schedule."

Mike Lin has it together. I DLd the Startup Control Panel and expect it to save my bacon some day soon.

The Surecool.net page is working fine this morning.

Mike Lin freely produces Clipomatic and it is one of the mostly used third party programs on my PC.

Hi all

Surecool has been around a fair while - they've undergone a slight address change as well - but, yeah, the download link was working at the time of posting (and appears to be today too)

The internet landscape changes all of the time, lots of older pages are afflicted with 'linkrot' and 404 errors.

.. and so it goes.

Use Spybot S&D 1.3

switch mode to advanced

under tools look at System Startup

ck or uncheck keys as you need.

Added benefit is you have a great Spyware fighting program, along with some other really great tools.
