On start-up/restart I've been getting the follwing message:
"668:qttask.exe-No Disk There is no disk in the drive.Please insert a disk into drive\device\harddisk1 \DR3"

Remove Quicktime and hopefully it will go away. QT causes many issues of varying degrees on different machines.

Quick Time task.
If you were using Win98 I would suggest removing the tick next to it within msconfig to disable it from your startup where it likely shows an invalid path.
Does WinXP have a similar utility?

Mike Lin has a utility that will like MSCONFIG function in XP. You can get it at www.mlin.net (I think).
