Hello,

I have this problem keep on bothering me quiet a long time. I have the Nvidia Riva TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro installed on my CPU; the problem is whenever I play games which required 3D imaging, the screen really mess up. However it runs good with game using 2D image such as 'Redalert2'.

Some of the examples are as below:
While I play 'Earth 2150' which is using 3D rendering, the game runs smooth for about 10 to 15 minutes but then the display will start messing up with lots of big, square pixels and lines of different colour. Another problem also occur while I play 'Halflife Counterstrike', the 3D walls and boxes seem to look transparent at all.

I really need your help on this problem. My CPU description is as below. I hope they provide you enough information:
- 'Iwill' motherboard with 133Mhz
- 800Mhz 'PentiumIII' chipset
- 64 SdRam
- Windows 98 'Second Edition'(upgrade from Win98 'first edition')
- DirectX 7.0
- Nvidia Riva TNT2 model 64/Model 64 Pro Graphic card

A little more system RAM would go a long way here but otherwise you could try adjusting the graphics acceleration either up or down to see if either change helps. Also use the dxdiag tool that comes with Direct X 7.0 and see if if passed the 3D tests. Read the texts files that come with the games for known issues with your card. Sometimes they offer a work around. You may also find some known issues at the manufacturers website that will explain the problem. Good luck and ciao for now

How do you only have 64mb of ram in an 800mhz computer? I personaly wouldn't try and troubleshoot this problem until you have at least 128mb's. 192 would probably be ideal. I think most decent games have a minimum system requirement of 64mb's of ram. And we all know that any game played with the minimum requirements plays like crap. Maybe try the new directX 8.0 also. Oh I don't know if your card has anti aliasing or not but make sure if you do that it's turned off. AA doesn't hardly help at all but it will give your computer processor a beating. IE. will slow everything down and run like crap. BUT GET MORE RAM FIRST! And with that little ram I would close everything in you tool bar before you start the game. You don't want these things running in the background sucking up ram and the processor while you play games. Right click all the little icons on the bottom at your desktop and exit everything you can.

Thanks for your advice pals!
I really appreciate it!
'I forgot to tell that my AGP driver is:
- ALi AGP driver 1.68'

I personally also think that 64ram has something to do with the problem. But I have an example here; my friend with a Pentium III 700Mhz CPU and 64ram could run this game very very well. If the ram is not enough then mostly graphic and ingame will only slow down and lag from time to time but how can it affect to mess up the graphic so seriously?

This problem already occur before I have detonator installed. But pals I have this thing I have wanted to tell. Earlier, I tried to tried to change my display driver or
update it by going into display setting then advance. Whenever I click on the 'change' tab or 'update' tab, a warning always came out 'An error occur while windows is working with the control panel on desk.cpl'!. However, a few days later, this problem automatically fixed and I can update the detonator already, strange har? Later, blue screen do come out when windows was in critical time by displaying '.vdd' and '.vmm' problem. I already reinstall windows 98 then. Do you think I should refomat the hardisc or do something with those 'opengl' or AGP?

Hi! I have the same Video as you and I went
to http://www.opengl.com and followed the
instructions and upgraded the drivers and it
fixed it (What a relieve!) However there is a
downside, I can't seem to play 1 of my old
games now instead...but it did fix the 3dfx
problem with other games like Diablo 2 which
stuffs it up. Perhaps some can help me in
this area instead? Does anyone know how does
the Glide 3d drivers get installed? I don't
think I have them for my Card?

Thankx
