win detected card, but just no green light. Have drivers from 3com, laptop is working finr, so is the cable line, but no green light.

is this the problem between win98 and that 3com card.. etherlink iii

Jin...if I remember correctly, the 3c589d card uses a dongle to connect to the patch cord...Those dongles go bad pretty frequently...try another dongle...see if it works...

Also, have other PCMCIA cards worked correctly???

Might be an issue with the PCMCIA socket...
