3 button generic mouse, cant get 3 buttons to work.

are there any ways to get the 3 buttons to work on my ps2 generic 3 button mouse? could install drivers from some other 3 button mouse? i would like to utilize it without spending 25$ for a wheel mouse.

3 button mice need a utility to program the 3rd button. I have two programs I may be able to send you if you like.

I tied that cool mouse too and it said I don't have a three button mouse. The help file says that you need a driver from the manufacturer of the mouse if the middle button doesn't work, but my mouse is generic. Does anyone know where I can get a generic driver for a three button serial mouse???

I have a Genius EasyMouse. I went to Genius's website, but they don't seem to have the drivers for the three button mouse anymore. So I'm also looking for a generic driver for a three button mouse. Any help would be appreciated

Hi, I also had this problem. Try this site : http://www.mousesystems.com/dld.htm#pcmouse and download fsi-21.exe This will install a generic 3 button mouse (PS/2, COM? etc.) on your system ! It works fine with my generic mouse and CoolMouse 97 Greetinx

Very often a 3-button mouse boots up in 2 button mode as default. Sometimes there is a switch underneath to toggle it between the 2 modes. If it doesn't have one, try holding down any of the mouse buttons during power-up. This will put it in 3-button mode and then any 3-button mouse drivers will now detect it as such and enable the use of the middle button. Windows has no 3-button drivers for mice.
